Established assisted living and memory care community in Babbitt, MN is seeking candidates for a Dietary Aide/Housekeeper to join our team.

Position is part-time including every other weekend and a holiday rotation. Driving is required.

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible to perform dietary and housekeeping tasks.This dual role will be responsible for meal preparation, serving and clean up for residents and staff, also to maintain assigned areas in a sanitary, safe and attractive conditional. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Candidates must maintain a clean, odor free, and safe environment, including resident's rooms, bathroom areas, utility room, storage room, and linen room as well as monitor supplies in these areas.
  • Provides a variety of laundry duties in the collection and laundering of linens, clothing and washables of the facility and the residents. 
  • Responsible for nutritious meals, desserts and snacks, while proving a safe and welcoming environment
  • Assist the supervisor in keeping a calendar of meals, and ensure groceries and supplies are ordered and stored in an effective and cost-efficient manner
  • Set-up tables in dining room, serve beverages for residents, and guests
  • Clear tables after meal, and cleanup of kitchen area including dishes, and emptying trash
  • Ensure all meals are properly prepared to meet food safety guidelines
  • Safe transportation of lunch meals to Ely Carefree Living



  • Candidates must be hardworking and dedicated to provide an exceptional customer service experience
  • An experienced cook is preferred large batch cooking, healthcare experience preferred 
  • Prior healthcare and/or laundry & housekeeping experience is preferred
  • Ability to maintain excellent interpersonal and cooperative relationships with management, staff, residents and residents' family
  • Candidates will be subject to a criminal background study
  • High school diploma/GED is preferred
  • Understand and exhibit infection control procedures, including proper handwashing techniques
  • Know and adhere to OSHA safety regulations and ensure all persons in kitchen/dining room follow correct procedures
