Are you looking for a career in Human Resources? Established healthcare organization has a team-oriented opportunity for a HR professional to join our Inver Grove Heights, MN location.

Position is full-time. Working primarily daytime hours Monday - Friday, alternate schedule based on the needs of the organization.

 

POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for recruitment, selection, & retention process. Maintaining close relationships with HR personnel, Support, and Managers. Assists with new hire process and onboarding. Responsible for the employee exit management process, including company-wide communication. Assists in employee relations as it relates to unemployment and workers compensation. Supporting overall human resource processes and procedures.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Recruitment, Selection & Retention

* Assist with the recruitment process, including internal and external job postings, and candidate searches to ensure recruitment and retention of competent staff. As part of the selection process:

> Work closely with the HR team and hiring managers to create and implement recruitment plans. Utilizing different channels of recruitment to attract qualified applicants.

> Review the information provided on a prospective employee's application, interpret pre-employment assessment results in accordance with established guidelines, conduct pre-screening interviews for potential suitability for employment.

Employee Exit Management

* Manage a clear exiting process to ensure fairness and consistency.

* Responsible to communicate change in employment to Payroll and IT.

* Conduct exit interviews for departing employees.

Employee Relations

* Keep an up to date log on all incidents, ensuring adequate communication with VP of Human Resources and Managers regarding next steps as it relates to disciplinary action and termination.

* Periodically review and recommend modifications regarding employment-related policies and procedures within the employee handbook and mangers' manual.

* Work closely with VP of Human Resources on Unemployment related requests and hearings.

 

Safety & Workers' Compensation

* Assist in the development of OSHA and safety standards, policies, and procedures.

* Review and process Workers' compensation claims.

 

Training & Development

* Assist in teaching or other aspects of the organization leadership and other training and development programs.

* Manage and conduct stay interviews.

 

Compensation & Benefits

* Assist other HR team members with benefit enrollment, eligibility, and the open enrollment process

* Work with managers on compensation & benefit communications to employees.

* Create enhanced wellness programs initiatives.

Consistently support the general direction, initiatives and specific final decisions of the organization in all aspects of the business. Maintain service excellence.

Support appropriate electronic and paper record management programs to ensure required information is maintained confidentially and is available to make essential decisions and to meet all compliance issues; ensure effective and efficient processes are in place.

 

Perform other functions as deemed appropriate by management personnel.

 

EDUCATION SPECIFICATIONS:

A Bachelors in Human Resource Management or Business Management is preferred. Associates degree in human resources or closely related field may be considered with additional experience.

EXPERIENCE:

* A minimum of three years office experience is required. Experience in an HR Administrative and/or health care setting is preferred.

* Some general HR related experience is preferred.

 

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND PERSONAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:

 

* Position requires an extremely perceptive person, who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels. As unique situations present themselves, the incumbent must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill, and the public image.

 

* Demonstrated skill and proficiency with Windows-based computer systems (specifically Word, Excel, and Power Point software), other health care industry related software and office equipment

 

* Ability to plan, analyze, organize, prioritize, delegate and accurately follow through on work activities with time constraints and interruptions to meet deadlines as well as to work independently (self-motivated) with a minimum amount of direction and/or supervision.

 

* Ability to listen and communicate clearly, fluently and diplomatically orally and in writing in the English language; also to maintain excellent interpersonal and cooperative working relationships with management, staff and clients.

 

* Ability to remain flexible, resilient, calm, maintain a sense of humor and to regularly present a well-groomed, professional image.

 

* Ability to exhibit desirable and appropriate behavior including integrity, ability to get along with others, team playing, industriousness, leadership, supportive communication, sense of urgency and confidentiality and independent judgment to provide for a cohesive working environment dedicated to achieving the organization's goals.

 

* Ability to work effectively and respectfully with staff, managers, executives and others with a variety of working styles to achieve accountability and results. Maintain service excellence.

* In an 8-hour work day, ability to meet the physical and mental requirements of the essential job functions with or without a reasonable accommodation
