Eveleth Support Office is seeking applications for an Authorization/Billing Specialist. This position will be full-time, approximately 40 hours a week.

 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Responsibilities include processing intakes, authorizations and service agreements; reviewing and completing service and/or payor changes, accurately and timely; and contacting appropriate insurance agencies to verify benefits, eligibility and prior authorization requirements, maintain all billing records, Prepare, generate, submit and collect, complete monthly AR balance descriptions for over 60 days old, meet specific A/R days outstanding and collection goals. Members of our Prior Authorization team professionally assist and nurture effective working relations with all management, employees, clients, vendors, and the public. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Two years' prior authorization/billing experience in a professional fast-paced office is preferred. Previous experience in a health care office and/or health insurance knowledge required.
  • High school graduate, preferably with some advance courses in business as normally acquired through business or technical college certification.
  • Position requires candidates to have a high level of proficiency in general computer programs, including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Must have the ability to prioritize in a high volume of requests and work independently.
  • Candidates will be subject to a criminal background study and must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.

 

PHYSICAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting/standing) in front of a computer for an 8-hour workday
  • Ability to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a copy machine, scanner and printer
  • Ability to make thoughtful decisions, read, write, speak publicly, and interpret data
