OVERVIEW:

The Corporate Director of Clinical Services is responsible for nursing quality assurance initiatives for all units across the Spectrum corporation to ensure a proactive approach to the delivery of nursing services throughout the company. These responsibilities include but are not limited to reviewing and fine-tuning our care delivery systems; designing systems, policies and procedures; teaching, consulting and auditing for compliance with current county, state and federal health care regulations.

The functional responsibility is to audit, train and develop policies and procedures, and improve nursing operations throughout the corporation. This position also has fiscal responsibility to manage the quality assurance within the established operating budget in an effort to achieve the organization's operating and financial objectives.

Interpret current county, state and federal health care and nursing compliance regulations and determine standards for nursing quality assurance for all units across the Spectrum corporation.
• Design systems policies and procedures to support current county, state and federal health care and nursing compliance regulations and internal standards for nursing quality assurance.
• Develop, implement and deliver training sessions to professional and paraprofessional staff throughout the company on the systems, policies and procedures to support current county, state and federal health care and nursing compliance regulations and internal standards for nursing quality assurance; test where appropriate to ensure understanding.
• Review nursing services periodically in each unit of the organization and prepare a report recommending area(s) in need of improvement to Executive Leadership for further remedial action.
• Coordinate admissions review process and consult with line managers on difficult client admission/retention issues.
• Provide nursing interface with other functional areas in the delivery of services to clients.
• Coordinate external relations with relevant agencies, trade groups, etc.
• Prepares reports to meet predetermines schedules; and actively facilitate and participate in scheduled managerial and staff meetings.
• Disseminate information appropriately to all staff to ensure communication is at its highest level between management, professional and paraprofessional staff at all locations.
• Participate in strategic, long-term planning and managerial company meetings.
• Understand they strategy, vision and expansion model of the organization including a basic understanding of assisted living, be familiar with and help to enforce organizational policies and best practice procedures.
• Consistently support the general direction, initiatives and specific final decisions of Executive Leadership in all aspects of the business; use influence sensitively to garner cooperation of management and coworkers. Maintain service excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota. Public Health Nurse Certificate and Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Pass a criminal background study and must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • Assisted living experience preferred, but not required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft products; clinical charting experience is preferred.
